UNILORIN shines at Cryptography contest

A team of University of Ilorin students on April 18, 2024 won a cheque worth 5000 dollars at the finals of DecaHack competition organised by the Cryptography Development Initiative in Nigeria (CRIN) in collaboration with Sahara ICP Hub following its outstanding performance.

The event, which was themed, “Shaping the Future: Youth-Led Innovation in the Digital Age” and held at the Nigerian Army Resources Centre, Asokoro, Abuja, featured six tertiary institutions.

At the grand finale of the contest, the University of Ilorin presented two projects just as the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife; while the Kwara State University, Malete, presented three projects.

Other finalists at the competition were Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijebu-Ode, which showcased a project, Federal University of Technology, Minna,  which similarly presented one project  and Covenant University, Sango-Otta, which had  six projects.

Following their presentations, which lasted five minutes each and three minutes of questions and answers, the panel of judges adjudged the UNILORIN team’s presentation as one of the best five projects.
