WELCOME TO CENTRE FOR AFFILIATED INSTITUTIONS
Preamble
The Centre for Affiliated Institutions (CAI) was established in 2009/2010 academic session for the purpose of providing quality mentorship to institutions affiliated with the University of Ilorin and to ensure such institutions live up to the required academic and administrative standard.
Major Activities of the Centre include:-
- Processing of Application for Affiliation.
- Monitoring of Exanimations of the affiliated programmes of various institutions which include moderation of question papers and answer scripts.
- Facilitating the approval of results of graduands of the affiliated programmes by the Senate of University of Ilorin.
- Co-ordinating the process of issuance of certificates to graduands of the programmes of affiliated institutions.

Biography of the Current Director
Ahmad Shehu ABDUSSALAM is a Professor of Arabic and Applied Linguistics in the Faculty of Arts, University of Ilorin. He was appointed Director, Centre for Affiliated Institutions, University of Ilorin with effect from 29th April, 2021. He studied and served in Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Malaysia. He holds a Ph.D. from University of Khartoum (1990) and was elevated to the Professorial rank at IIUM Malaysia (2002). His areas of study and publication cover Arabic Syntax, Semantics, Applied Linguistics, Pedagogical Linguistics, Discourse Analysis and Translation Study. His current research is on socio-cultural linguistics of texts. He was Dean of Faculty of Arts (2015-2017), Head of Department of Linguistics and Nigerian Languages, University of Ilorin (2009-2015) and Head of Department of Arabic Language and Literature, International Islamic University Malaysia (1996-1998).
