UNILORIN sets up 13-man Committee on Artisans training, workshop

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has approved the constitution of a 13-man committee that would ensure the provision of adequate training for interested  Artisans in Kwara State.

This was disclosed in a memo dated Thursday (February 15, 2024) and signed by the Registrar of the University, Mr Mansur Adeleke Alfanla,a copy of which was made available to UNILORIN BULLETIN,  the Director of the Institute of Education, University of Ilorin, Prof. AbdulRaheem Yusuf, was appointed the Committee’s  Chairman while a Deputy Registrar, Mr O. A. Dopamu was named  the Secretary.

Other members of the Committee, according to the memo are Dr M. K. Jimoh of the Institute of Education/Department of Educational Technology; Dr K.O. Abdulrahaman of the Department of Mechanical Engineering; Dr Taofeeq Lawal, the Deputy Director, Consultancy Unit and Engr S. O. Aloga of  the  Works Unit.

Other members of the Committee are Mr Ayodele Olorunfemi of the UNILORIN Microfinance Bank; Mr Micheal Ibitoye of the Bursary Unit and Mr Akeem Tiamiyu who would represent the Technical and Entrepreneurship  Centre (TEC).

The Committee also include; Alhaji Jimah Ayınla Adeshina, Mr Adeleke Adedayo Samuel, Alhaji Usman Issa Opeyemi, and Mr Olaide Shobowale, all from the Congress of Artisans.

The terms of reference of the Committee, as stated in the memo, include developing the workshop curriculum and training modules; identifying and securing resource persons and facilitators; coordinating logistics, venue arrangements, and participants registration; overseeing publicity and outreach efforts to ensure maximum participation; and  evaluating the outcomes and impact of the workshop for future improvement, as well as any other relevant recommendation that can assist the University.

The Registrar, who congratulated members of the committee, wished them a very successful assignment.
