UNILORIN JUPEB admits 700 foundation students

… closes 2023/2024 admission

The Director of the Joint Universities Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB), University of Ilorin Centre, Prof. Ibrahim Kayode Adam, has disclosed that the Centre  has recorded about 700 students for the programme in the 2023/2024.

The Director, who stated this penultimate Wednesday (December 27, 2023) after the 2023/2024 orientation exercise held at the African Hall, Mini Campus of the University, added that the Centre has equally closed admission for the session in order to allow proper academic programme for the students who have resumed since last October.

“We are thrilled to extend a warm welcome to all the incoming students who are about to embark on an incredible academic journey with us. As part of our commitment to ensuring a smooth transition and fostering a supportive environment for students, we have closed admission for the session after we have recorded about 700 students for the foundation programme”, he said.

The Director also encouraged the students to face their studies squarely and abide by the rules and regulations of the University.

While advising the students on their health, the representative of the Chief Medical Director of the University, Dr Omotesho Olumuyiwa, urged them to take good care of their health and dress appropriately while on and outside the University campus.

In his remarks, the University’s Chief Security Officer (CSO), Mr Wasiu Oyewole, urged the new students to take security matters seriously, assuring them that their lives and property are secure in the school.

The CSO also advised them to stay away from crimes that could result in their expulsion from the school.

The Library Officer of JUPEB, Alhaji Usman Saliu, urged the students to learn about the various supporting services available in the Library in order to assist them on their academic journey.

“From the Library to counseling services, we are here to ensure you have the tools you need to thrive”, he said.

Also commenting, the Information Technology Officer, Mrs Ojo, urged the new students to abide by the rules guiding their registration as students, explaining that the protocol for registration includes capturing, thumb printing, and collection of identification cards.

The Director of the Human Development Centre, Dr Bolu Steve, who advised the students to use the school to build their academic foundation, said that life is in phases, and human beings are in sizes.

“Build your foundation to bring a golden Future. Face your studies and build your foundation for a better future”, she urged.

In her remarks, the University Deputy Registrar in charge of JUPEB, Mrs Muheebat Egbewole, advised the students to be more committed to their studies and make sure that they complete their registration and pay their school fees before their Continuous Assessment and Examination commence.
