UNILORIN gets 3 new Governing Council members

The Senate of the University of Ilorin and the Congregation have elected two representatives and one representative respectively into the University Governing Council.

While the Senate, at its 299th Meeting last Monday (February 12, 2024), elected Prof. R. F. Bello and Prof. U. A. Raheem, the Congregation elected Mr A. G. Dauda at its 260th Meeting last Thursday (February 15, 2024).

The election of Mr Dauda, a Deputy Director at the Academic Planning Unit of the University of Ilorin,  was sequel to the withdrawal of the Registrar and Secretary to the Governing Council, Mr Mansur Adeleke Alfanla, who ceased to be the representative of  Congregation on the Council following his appointment as the Chief Administrative Officer of the University last year.

Prof. Bello, who teaches at the Department of Economics, is a former Dean, Postgraduate School, University of Ilorin, while Prof. Usman of the Department of Geography and Environmental Management is the penultimate Chairman of the University’s Chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
