Olawepo bags ASN award

The Head, Department of Anatomy, College of Health Sciences, University of Ilorin, Prof. Ayokunle Olawepo, has been conferred with the Fellowship of the Anatomical Society of Nigeria (FASN).

The Fellowship, which is the highest honour by the Society for outstanding scholars who are members of the professional body, was conferred on Prof. Olawepo during the 2023 edition of the Annual Conference of the Society held at Baze University, Abuja, recently.

The honour was conferred on Prof. Olawepo in recognition of his enormous contributions to the field of Anatomy spanning more than two  decades of teaching, research and scholarly contributions.

Earlier in March, 2023, Prof. Olawepo was, alongside Dr I. K. Kolawole of the Department of Anaesthesia, elected into the Governing Council of the West African College of Surgeons at its Annual General Meeting and Scientific Conference held in Lome, Togo.

Prof. Olawepo was the Chairman, Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Kwara State Branch. He also served as National President of the Nigerian Orthopaedic Association.

Reacting to the development, the Provost, College of Health Sciences, University of Ilorin, Prof. Biodun Sulyman Alabi, congratulated Prof. Olawepo on the honour conferred on him as he wished him a more rewarding career.
