Jimoh bags NANNS ‘‘Excellence Award’’

The National Association of Northern Nigerian Students (NANNS) has bestowed the prestigious “Excellence Award” on the Director of the Computer Services and Information Technology Unit (COMSIT), University of Ilorin, Prof. Rasheed Gbenga Jimoh.

The award was presented to him last Monday (January 8, 2024) in his office by the General Secretary of NANNS in Kwara State, Comrade Abdullahi Imam, who also described Prof. Jimoh as an “icon of diligent service.”

Comrade Imam pointed out that the event marked a significant acknowledgment of academic excellence and dedication to service.

Responding, Prof. Jimoh, who is also the Vice Chancellor of Muhammad Kamalud-Deen University, Ilorin, expressed his gratitude for the honour, which he said he would continue to appreciate.

Prof. Jimoh pledged his ceaseless support towards creating an enabling environment for both the staff and students of the University through the efficient use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

The renowned scholar also commended the visionary leadership of the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, SAN, as he applauded the authorities of the University on the recent establishment of a Committee for Innovation Hub under the chairmanship of the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Olubunmi Omotesho.
