Egbewole welcomes Omotoso’s appointment as JAS Editor-in-Chief

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has felicitated with Prof. Gabriel Olaiya Omotoso of the Department of Anatomy on his appointment as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Anatomical Science (JAS).

Prof. Egbewole, in a statement signed by the University’s Spokesman, Mr Kunle Akogun, said that he was not surprised with the appointment considering the erudition and contributions of Prof. Omotosho to the growth of knowledge in the field of Anatomy.

The Vice Chancellor said that Prof. Omotosho has all it would take to edit the official publication of the Anatomical Society of Nigeria as he described him as a fantastic scholar and administrator who truly deserves the position.

Also speaking on appointment, the Provost, College of Health Sciences, University of Ilorin, Prof. Biodun Sulyman Alabi, said that Prof. Omotoso is worthy of the appointment as he solicited for the support of the University administration for him.

In the same vein, the Dean, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, University of Ilorin, Prof. Moyosore Salihu Ajao,  also commended the choice of Prof. Omotoso as the Editor-in-Chief of JAS. He added that the appointment is an honour not only to the renowned scholar but also to the University of Ilorin as an institution.

Prof. Omotoso, whose appointment was contained in a letter dated September 19, 2023 and addressed to him by the National Executive Council of the Anatomical Society of Nigeria, would hold the position for three years.
