At Registry Seminar, Alfanla advocates continuous learning

The Registrar of the University of Ilorin, Mr Mansur Alfanla, has emphasised the importance of continuous learning among staff members of the University, particularly those of the institution’s Registry.

Mr Alfanla stated this last Tuesday(February 27,2024) while declaring open the maiden edition of the 2024 Registry Seminar series.

The Registrar urged staff to embrace the culture of learning, unlearning, and relearning, saying that to remain relevant and effective, staff members must possess updated knowledge and wherewithal.

While reiterating the fact that attending the seminar series would not be enforced, the Registrar hinted that questions based on the knowledge transmitted at the seminar series might be included in future promotion examinations.

Mr Alfanla commended the Chairman of the Registry Seminar Committee,who is also the Deputy Registrar (Council Office), Mrs. Mary Olayemi, and her team for organising a very successful seminar.

Delivering a lecture titled “Emotional Intelligence At A Workplace,” Mr Kabir Adewoyin, a Principal Assistant Registrar at the University, underscored the importance of emotional intelligence in the workplace.

Mr Adewoyin, who is the Head of the Junior Staff Section, Directorate of Human Resources, University of Ilorin, stressed the need for staff members to maintain emotional intelligence and foster harmonious relationships with one another.

He charged the staff members of the University to embrace continuous learning and cultivate emotional intelligence in their professional endeavours.

During the event, two new staff members of the Registry, Mr Suleman Abdulganiy and Mrs Ayodele Racheal Ogungbade, were honoured for their fascinating sense of dressing and awarded special recognitions and cash gifts by the Registrar for being exemplary.

The Registrar urged other staff members to emulate the sterling dress senses of the awardees, who were designated as the Best Dressed Male staff and the Best Dressed Female staff of the University Registry, respectively.
