Amolegbe gets IEA’s award

A Senior Lecturer at the Department of Economics, University of Ilorin, Dr Khadijat Busola Amolegbe, has been recognised by the International Economics Association as the “Featured Economist” for March 2024.

The renowned academic, who also earned his doctorate degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Ilorin, is also a Principal Investigator on a USAID-funded project under the Feed the Future MRR Innovation Lab’s Advancing Local Leadership, Innovation and Networks (ALL-IN) programme at the University of California, Davis.

Dr Amolegbe is also an economist with the World Bank African Gender Innovation and a scholar who has conducted field experiment and mixed method research projects leading to institutional publications.

The research interest of Dr Amolegbe is at the intersection of agriculture and development economics covering topics on food security, poverty, women’s empowerment, climate change and digital economy.

In addition to the above, Dr Amolegbe was also a visiting researcher at the Cornell University, the Oxford University and the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan as well the Nordic Africa Institute (NAI).
