Akogun tasks new DCA staff on diligence

The Director of Corporate Affairs, University of Ilorin, Mr Kunle Akogun, has tasked the newly appointed staff members of the Directorate to be professional, punctual and hardworking in the discharge of their responsibilities.

Mr Akogun stated this while addressing the new staff at his office last Thursday (January 4, 2024).

The Director urged the new staff to be prepared to give their best, saying that it is their productivity that would earn them the respect of their colleagues and ensure that they maintain the job.

Mr Akogun reminded them that they are now image makers of the University as he said that their actions and inactions within and outside the University would influence the perspectives of others on the University.

While encouraging the new staff to contribute their quotas to the overall success of the Unit and the University, the  Director explained that the Unit would not condone any form of laziness, truancy and unprofessional conduct.

Also speaking, the Deputy Editor, UNILORIN BULLETIN, Mr Abubakar Imam, congratulated the new employees on their appointments as staff members of a great institution of higher learning.

While saying that the University of Ilorin is one of the best places one can work, Mr Imam advised the new staff members to ensure that their impact is felt not just by the Directorate but also by the entire University and its relevant publics.

The Deputy Editor challenged them to always be conscious of their duties, saying that the impression of the members of the University community about their personalities and professionalism would be measured by their productivity.

Mr Imam also urged the new staff to develop nose for news as he encouraged them to always show adequate interest in newsworthy events within and outside the campus for the purpose of reporting such on UNILORIN BULLETIN and UNILORIN 89.3 FM.

He encouraged them to make themselves relevant to the system by ensuring that they always have their reports published on UNILORIN BULLETIN and use on UNILORIN 89.3 FM., saying that the only way that could be achieved is when their reports are factual, timely and balanced.

Also contributing, the Production Editor of UNILORIN BULLETIN, Mr Mustafa Abubakar, advised the new staff members to be ready to learn and relearn by studying everyone in the unit and know areas of their systems in the course of their duties in the Directorate.

The event was witnessed by an Assistant Director (Information) at the Directorate, Mr Mubarak Oladosu and some other staff members.
