Akogun hails Man ‘O War peace initiatives

The Director of Corporate Affairs, University of Ilorin, Mr. Kunle Akogun, has commended members of the UNILORIN chapter of Man ’O War Nigeria for maintaining peace and order on campus, particularly during the University’s last convocation ceremonies.

Mr Akogun gave this commendation last Tuesday (January 30, 2024) while playing host to a delegation of the UNILORIN chapter of the organisation.

The Director, who said his Unit exists to promote the good image of the University, said that the Directorate would continue to work towards achieving the objective.

Mr Akogun also said that the University of Ilorin is very peaceful and all   hands must be on deck to maintain the reigning peace and harmony to foster an enabling environment for teaching, learning and research.

He further advised members of the organization to concentrate more on their studies and not allow their roles as Man O-War members on the campus to over shadow their academic activities.

On his part, the Station Manager of UNILORIN 89.3 FM, the official radio station of the University, Mr Idris Akintola Ibrahiim (Alooma), noted that the institution stands out among its peers and has been continuously rated the most sought-after University in the country for many years due to its ability to attract the most admission seekers annually.

He urged them to keep on collaborating with the Directorate of Corporate Affairs in order to fish out bad eggs within the campus.

Mr Ibrahim assured them that the Directorate will continue to collaborate with them in order to achieve the common goal, which is safety and peaceful co-existence within the University community.

 In his remarks, a Deputy Director at the Directorate, Mr Tunde  Agboola, advised  members of the Man-O- War to embrace all advice offered them and should never forget the primary reason  they are on campus.

Speaking earlier, the Coordinator-in-Chief of Man O War, Nigeria, ASM Olosasa Habeebullahi Doyinshola, acknowledged the unwavering support of the Directorate towards promoting and projecting his organisation’s programmes in the University’s weekly publication and on the radio station, adding that such would continue to boost their resourcefulness.

He also called for synergy between the organisation and the Directorate to enable Man’OWar continue to function above expectations.
