2 UNILORITES win pre-doctoral fellowship

Two students of the Department of Agricultural Economics and Farm Management, University of Ilorin, Innocent Enahoro Ojiri and Sunmibola Oyetola Olaniyi, have been awarded the coveted Fellowship of the Centre for Effective Global Action (CEGA) in the United States of America after emerging successful among several applicants from Africa.

Mr Ojiri will undertake his training at Northwest University while Olaniyi is due to undergo her programme at the University of California.

According to a covering document signed by the Supervisor of the two awardees at the University of Ilorin, Dr Khadijat Amolegbe, the predoctoral programme will include training seminars, coursework ,conferences and curriculum design in socio-economic development.

The duo will also have the opportunity to participate in cutting edge research, which will enhance their knowledge of rural development.

Similarly,  a letter of appointment addressed to Olaniyi, which was signed by Chelsea Downe on behalf of CEGA and the University of Berkeley,  stated that ” the purpose of the fellowship is to equip scientists from Africa with skills and research networks needed to carry out impact evaluation curricula” while the letter of appointment of Ojiri signed by Katie Dallia details the perks that come with his fellowship award.
