The University of Ilorin has announced that the 2025/2026 Rain Semester Examinations will commence on Monday, June 29, 2026, and end on Friday, July 24, 2026.

The announcement was contained in an Internal Memorandum and Notice to students issued by a Deputy Registrar, Mr M. A. Opaleke, on behalf of the University Administration.

According to the notices, all necessary machinery is being put in place for the smooth conduct of the examinations, while the cooperation of members of staff involved in the exercise has also been solicited.

The Notice also warned students against engaging in any form of examination malpractice, noting that offenders would face appropriate disciplinary actions.

The University reiterated that mobile phones, wristwatches, iPads, iPods, Bluetooth devices, flash drives, handbags, books, notes and other electronic or storage devices are strictly prohibited in examination venues. Any prohibited item found in or around an examination hall would be confiscated, regardless of whether it is switched on or off.

Students were further reminded not to bring unauthorised materials into examination halls, write inscriptions on any part of their body or clothing, engage in collusion, impersonation, copying, information exchange or any other form of examination misconduct.

They were also advised to use only their matriculation numbers during examinations, as writing names on answer scripts is prohibited.

The University stated that candidates would not be allowed to leave examination venues until at least 50 per cent of the allotted examination time has elapsed.

For Computer-Based Tests (CBT), students were urged to conduct themselves orderly and comply with all regulations governing the examination centres.

To gain entry into examination halls, students must present original duly signed coloured course registration forms and valid University identity cards. Photocopies or altered registration forms without proper endorsement will not be accepted. Students who have misplaced their identity cards were advised to apply for replacements without delay.

The University also urged students who have forgotten their portal passwords to recover them ahead of the examinations through the “Forgot Password” option on the University website, using their registered email addresses.

On absence from examinations, the University explained that students who fail to sit for registered examinations without proven reasons such as ill-health, accidents or other verified emergencies would be deemed to have failed such examinations.

Ignorance or misreading of the examination timetable, it noted, would not be accepted as a valid excuse.

Students who fall ill during the examination period were advised to report in writing to their Faculty Deans through their Heads of Department.

The University added that candidates whose absence is supported by medical reports from the Director of University Health Services may be considered for make-up examinations in line with Senate-approved guidelines.

The University encouraged all students to familiarise themselves with the examination rules and regulations contained in the University Academic Programmes (Undergraduate and Sub-Degree) as well as the Students’ Information and Regulations Handbook.
