In preparation for its 13th Anniversary, officials of the University of Ilorin Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists visited an Ilorin-based lubricant production and marketing company, LUBCON, last Tuesday (April 28, 2026) where it received assurances of support.

The team was warmly received by the Chief Executive Officer of the Company, Dr Taiye O. Williams, who pledged support for the upcoming celebration within the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility framework. “No matter how little, we shall continue to do the needful at every given time,” he said.

Dr Williams acknowledged the stiff competition and lubricant importation policies affecting local manufacturers but affirmed LUBCON’s commitment to supporting community and professional initiatives, saying, “We have had to reset our approach. We will give support within our capacity.”

Speaking on the visit, the Chairman of the Anniversary Committee, Mr Isaac Lewu, said the Chapel is rallying support for a secretariat project to strengthen professional practice and curb quackery.

The Chairman of the Chapel, Mr Tijani Adewoyin, who was also on the delegation, expressed appreciation to LUBCON’s management for the reception accorded the team.
