UNILORIN JUPEB calls for more facilities
By Abubakar Imam
The Director of the Joint Preliminary Examinations Board (JUPEB) Foundation School, University of Ilorin, Prof. Ibrahim Kayode Adam, has appealed to the management of the University to provide more facilities for the School in order to accommodate its increasing number of students.
Prof. Adam made this advocacy last Tuesday (April 28, 2026) while speaking with UNILORIN Bulletin in his office.
The renowned Professor of Business Law said that more students are choosing to come to the School because of its excellent service delivery, pointing out that many of these interested students could not be admitted due to lack of space.
Prof. Adam, who is a former Dean of the Faculty of Law, explained that the School requires larger classrooms and Laboratories, among other facilities, to cope with the increasing number of interested candidates.
The Director said that the School has no fewer than 700 students who are taking Science subjects, adding that with such a number more facilities would be needed.
On what accounted for the increase in the number of students in the School, Prof. Adam said that the exciting development cannot be divorced from the excellent service delivery they enjoy as he said that “good products and services do not need advertisement”.
Prof. Adam, who is also the Chairman of the Ilorin Emirate Staff Association, University of Ilorin, also said the ease with which more of those who passed through the School secure admissions into the University is encouraging more students to choose to come.
The Director thanked the Vice Chancellor, Prof Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, for his support to the School. He said that since he took over the leadership of the School it has never been abandoned.
He also commended all his predecessors for their roles, saying that those cumulative efforts culminated in the fascinating performance of the School and its attractiveness to students from several parts of the country.
He assured the management of the University and the general public that he and other staff members of the University would continue to do their best to ensure that the School remains second to none among its peers across the nation.
