Egbewole commends varsity’s peaceful examination conduct

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has commended the orderly, peaceful and disciplined conduct of the ongoing Rain Semester examinations in the University, describing the exercise as another reflection of the enduring culture of excellence, integrity and commitment of the University to academic standards.
Prof. Egbewole made the remarks last Monday (June 29, 2026) during an examination monitoring tour across strategic examination centres in the University, where he assessed the conduct of students, invigilators and examination officials.
The monitoring exercise commenced at the Computer-Based Test (CBT) Centre where the Vice Chancellor expressed satisfaction with the calm atmosphere as students were seen filing-in into the examination halls in an orderly manner to write their examinations. He lauded the seamless coordination of the exercise and the effective deployment of facilities that ensured a hitch-free examination processes.
Speaking during the visit, the Chairman of the CBT Centre, Prof. Adeyinka Tella, said the Centre had continued to uphold the University’s tradition of efficiency through meticulous planning, adequate technical support and strict adherence to examination guidelines.
Prof. Tella, who teaches at the Department of Library and Information Sciences, assured the Vice Chancellor that the Centre would remain committed to providing a conducive environment for credible computer-based examinations.
The Vice Chancellor and his management team, thereafter, proceeded to the Faculty of Environmental Sciences where examinations were simultaneously taking place in various venues under a serene and well-coordinated atmosphere.
A UNILORIN Bulletin representative on the entourage of the Vice Chancellor observed that the students conducted themselves responsibly while invigilators diligently discharged their duties.
Receiving the management team, the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Ganiyu Amuda-Yusuf, appreciated the University’s consistent support to the Faculty, noting that the peaceful conduct of the examinations was a product of proper planning, effective supervision and cooperation of students and staff.
The monitoring team’s next stop was the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences where the Vice Chancellor again expressed delight at the high level of discipline displayed by students throughout the examination exercise.
He encouraged them to sustain the University’s culture of academic integrity and responsible conduct.
In his remarks, the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Abdulganiyu Giwa, who was represented by the Ag. Head of the Department of Pharmaceutics and Industrial Pharmacy, Prof. Kola Mustapha, thanked the Vice Chancellor for the visit, describing it as a morale booster for both staff and students. He said the Faculty remained committed to maintaining the highest standards of teaching, learning and examination administration.
The monitoring exercise ended at both the old and new campuses of the College of Health Sciences, where the Vice Chancellor inspected several examination halls and interacted briefly with examination officials. He commended the conducive environment, effective coordination and impressive level of compliance with examination regulations.
Leading the management team round the examination venues, the Provost of the College of Health Sciences, Prof. Biodun Sulyman Alabi, expressed appreciation to the University Management for its unwavering support in creating an enabling environment for quality teaching, learning and assessment. He added that the College remained committed to sustaining the University’s reputation for academic excellence.
Also on the tour with the Vice Chancellor were the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics), Prof. Moji Taibat Bakare-Odunola, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (management services), Prof. Olalere Adeyemi; the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research, Technology and Innovation), Prof. Muhtar Adeiza Etudaiye, the Registrar, Mr Mansur Adeleke Alfanla, the Bursar, Mr Abiodun Lawal; and the University Librarian, Prof. Kamaldeen Tunde Omopupa.
