Mass Comm. Dept, Kwara NIPR hail Laaro’s appointment

The appointment of a Member of the Editorial Board of UNILORIN Bulletin, Dr AbdulKadir Oba Laaro, as the Chairman of the Governing Council of the Kwara State Signage And Advertisement Agency (KWASSA) has been described as befitting and well-deserved.
This assertion was made by staff and students of the Department of Mass Communication, University of Ilorin, and the Kwara State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) in their separate congratulatory messages to Dr Laaro, copies of which were sighted by UNILORIN Bulletin.
Specifically, the Department thanked the Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, for picking the Mass Communication teacher for the role.
It noted that the expertise, dedication, and wealth of experience of Dr Laaro in communication research will contribute meaningfully to the development of the agency.
The Department wished Dr Laaro God’s continued mercy, wisdom, and guidance as he assumes the responsibility and works towards the achievement of the agency’s objectives.
Similarly, the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Kwara State Chapter, also congratulated Dr Laaro on his appointment as Chairman of the Governing Council of KWASAA by the Governor of Kwara State and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON.
The appointment, according to the NIPR, is a deserved recognition of Dr Laaro’s integrity, professionalism and dedication to service as it is also seen as a source of pride to the Institute and to the Public Relations profession in Kwara State.
The Institute added that Dr Laaro’s experience in communication and public engagement will be a great asset to the agency, which shapes how the state presents itself.
The Institute wished Dr Laaro a successful tenure as it assured him of its readiness to support him in any way it can.
