The Chief Imam of the University of Ilorin Central Mosque, Prof. Nasir AbdusSalam, has described Ramadan as a period of spiritual rejuvenation and communal harmony as he urged Muslims to perpetuate its virtues.
Prof. AbdusSalam, who was represented by one of his deputies, Dr Musa Abdullahi Al-Fulani, made this assertion last Tuesday (March 17, 2026) while featuring on a special interview programme of UNILORIN 89.3 FM, “Oro T’onlo”. The programme was anchored by the Station Manager, Mr Idris Alooma,
The Chief Imam noted that the sacred month embodied the essence of self-reflection, devotion, and renewal of faith, promoting self-discipline, compassion, and unity among Muslims. He listed its benefits as including spiritual purification, increased God-consciousness, and a sense of global Muslim unity, alongside physical and mental well-being through fasting.
While congratulating Muslims for partaking in the one-month spiritual elevating exercise, the Chief Imam rejoiced with the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, and other members of the University Muslim community.
