Don’t disappoint us, UNILORIN Alumni Association charges Oladimeji

The National President of the University of Ilorin Alumni Association, Prof. Abdulrazaq Olubusuyi Kilani, has charged the new Vice Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Prof. Lateef Folorunsho Oladimeji, to ensure that the faith-based institution is elevated to greater heights.

Prof. Kilani made this appeal last Monday (July 21, 2025) when he led a delegation of the National Executive Committee of the Association on a congratulatory visit to the new Vice Chancellor in his office.

The Alumni President said that taking the 20 years old University to greater heights in the realm of service delivery is the only way the Association would not be disappointed.

Prof. Kilani, who is a former Ag. Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, described Prof. Oladimeji as a frontline and worthy member of the Alumni Association who acquired all his academic credentials at the Better By Far University.

The Alumni President, who is also the Chief Imam of the University of Port-Harcourt Central Mosque, added that the fact that Prof. Oladimeji is one of the foundation staff of Al-Hikmah University conferred an additional advantage on the Professor of Islamic Studies as he is sufficiently equipped with all he needed to know about the prospects and challenges of the University.

               While saying that the Association would be monitoring the progress of the University under Prof. Oladimeji, Prof. Kilani assured the new Vice Chancellor of the prayers and support of the Association.

               Responding, Prof. Oladimeji thanked the President and members of the Alumni Association for the visit.

               He added that he would operate a stress-free agenda for members of staff and students of the University.

               Prof. Oladimeji assured his guests that he would work very hard and spare no effort at ensuring that the University is elevated and rank among the best in Nigeria.

               Prof. Kilani was accompanied on the visit by the Vice President, Engr Iswat Lawal; the General Secretary, Dr Barakat Raji; the Treasurer, Mrs Ganiyat Agboola and the Social Secretary, Abdullateef Hussein.
