The Faculty of Engineering and Technology, University of Ilorin, has emerged as the overall winner of the prestigious CODET 2025 Competition, held at the NigComSat Headquarters, Abuja.
Organised by the Committee of Deans of Engineering and Technology (CODET) in Nigerian Universities, the annual competition showcased innovative solutions developed by Engineering students from across the country.
The University of Ilorin’s team, “Team Afrovax” secured the top prize in the Group category.
The victorious team, comprising Eke Ojiugo and Abuh Ufedo, was supervised by Dr S. A. Yahaya, who praised the students’ dedication and creativity.
Dr Yahaya also expressed appreciation to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN; and the outgoing Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Prof. Jamiu Odusote, for their unwavering support.
He also acknowledged Dr Sikiru Olayinka, the Chairman of the University Project Committee, for his instrumental backing throughout the competition journey.
“This outstanding achievement reinforces the commitment of the University of Ilorin to excellence in innovation, research, and Engineering education”, he stressed.
