56 UNILORIN staff sponsored to 2025 NUSSAG contest

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has approved the sponsorship of 56 UNILORIN staff members to this year’s edition of the Nigerian University Staff Sports Association Games (NUSSAG) being hosted by Bayero University, Kano. The sports festival would hold between Wednesday, 21st and Friday, 30th May, 2025.

            This was disclosed by the University Director of Sports, Prof. Tajudeen Olanrewaju Ibraheem, in a telephone chat with UNILORIN Bulletin last Wednesday (May 21, 2025).

            Prof. Ibraheem, who said that the UNILORIN contingent had since arrived in the ancient city of Kano for the competition, thanked the Vice Chancellor for his consistent support for sports development among the staff and students of the University.

            He added that the human and material resources being made available to his council, among other interventions, are encouraging the discovery of more sporting talents among members of the University community.

            The Director said that members of the contingent are in very high spirit as they are prepared to make the Vice Chancellor and the entire University community very proud.

            Prof. Ibraheem encouraged more staff and students of the University to embrace their preferred sports in order to boost their physical and mental well-being as he said that the University management is ready to encourage them to attain the highest possible level.

            The Director added that all the sports facilities built and being constantly maintained by the University are meant to be utilised by interested staff members and students of the University for their own benefit.
