Olokoba heads Kwara TWG on Viral Hepatitis

A Professor at the College of Health Sciences, University of Ilorin, Prof. Abdulfatai Bamidele Olokoba, has been appointed the Chairman of the Technical Working Group (TWG) on Viral Hepatitis in Kwara State.

Inaugurating the TWG at the State Ministry of Health on Wednesday (March 12, 2025), the Kwara State Commissioner of Health, Dr Aminat El-Imam, charged the members to work with other stakeholders to ensure the total eradication of the disease from the state.

The Commissioner, who is also an academic staff of the University of Ilorin, said that the government and people of Kwara State reposed a lot of confidence in Prof. Olokoba and his team as she urged them to effectively deploy their knowledge and expertise accordingly.

Responding, Prof. Olokoba thanked the Kwara State Government for the privilege given to them to serve the state in that capacity.

Prof. Olokoba, who is the former Chief Medical Director of the Ilorin General Hospital (now Kwara State University Teaching Hospital), promised that he and his team mates would give the assignment their very best.

The renowned expert in Hepatology and Public Health, therefore, appealed to stakeholders and the entire people of Kwara State to give the TWG their utmost cooperation for the benefit of all.
