The Nigerian Association of Northern Nigeria Students (NANNS) has honoured the Director of the UNILORIN Centre for Renewable Energy, Prof. Peter Adeoye with the Sir Ahmadu Bello Distinguished Merit Award in recognition of his “outstanding contributions to leadership and genuine service to humanity.”

The award was presented to him during a courtesy visit to Prof Adeoye by the Association on Tuesday, March 4, 2025.

In the letter of award dated 24th February, 2025, a copy of which was sighted by UNILORIN Bulletin penultimate Friday (March 14, 2025), the National President of NANNS, Comrade Abdulrahman Ibrahim, stated that the Association commended Prof Adeoye on “his exceptional work and leadership in the service of the people and Nigeria at large”.

He said, “You have shown yet again your commitment to the collective welfare of your constituents and by extension, the Nigerian people.”

In his acceptance speech, Prof. Adeoye, who is also the Governing Board Chairman of the African Support Bureau for Entrepreneurship (ASBE), expressed gratitude to NANNS for the recognition, stating that the award serves as further motivation to continue his work in his chosen field.
