Yakubu appointed into NAS Council
…. also becomes PNgAS handling editor

The immediate past Dean of Student Affairs, University of Ilorin, Prof. Musa Toyin Yakubu, has been elected as a member of the 50th Council of the Nigerian Academy of Science (NAS).
The election of Prof. Yakubu, who is also a former Director of the Central Research Laboratory, University of Ilorin, was one of the highlights of the 50th Annual General Meeting of the NAS held in Abuja recently.
Prof. Yakubu, who is also a Fellow of both the prestigious NAS and the African Academy of Science (AAS), emerged as one of the four representatives of Biological Sciences among the eight contestants for the position.
Prior to his election as a Council Member, Prof. Yakubu had been appointed as a Handling Editor of the official journal of the Academy, the Proceedings of the Nigerian Academy of Science (PNgAS).
In a letter conveying the appointment to Prof. Yakubu, the Executive Secretary of the Academy, Dr M. Oladoyin Odubanjo, remarked that as the Handling Editor, the don is expected to bring his experience and scholarly insight to strengthen the editorial process and contribute to the continued advancement of the PNgAS.
