Unilorite emerges NANS Kwara JCC chairman

A 300 Level student of the Department of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, University of Ilorin, Yusuf Abdulqodri Eleburuke, has emerged as Chairman of the Kwara State National Association of Nigerian Students(NANS)Joint Campus Committee (JCC) following the successful conduct of the 2026 convention in Ilorin.
The election, conducted on Saturday(June 20, 2026), had 22 duly accredited senators representing tertiary institutions across Kwara State.
Announcing the result, the Convention Chairman, Mr Olakanmi Abdullateef Olawale, declared Eleburuke winner after describing the election as a transparent process conducted in line with established guidelines.
Out of the 22 votes cast, Eleburuke secured 12 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Mr Solihu Ismail Aloba, who polled 9 votes, while one vote was declared void.
In his acceptance speech, Mr Eleburuke thanked Almighty God for the victory as he described his emergence as a collective victory for students across Kwara State.
He commended the Convention Chairman for ensuring a free, fair, credible, and transparent process and pledged to run an administration anchored on unity, accountability, innovation, and impactful service to students.
Institutions represented at the convention included the University of Ilorin, Kwara State Polytechnic, College of Education Ilorin, School of Nursing, Health Technology Offa and Oro, as well as Federal Polytechnic Offa.
