Unilorite becomes Oba @ 32

A 32 years old alumnus of the Department of Economics, University of Ilorin, Adewole Oluwatosin Adewale, has been installed as the Owa of Ayegbaju-Ekiti in Oye Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
The installation ceremony, held last Tuesday (July 14, 2026), featured the presentation of the Staff of Office and Instrument of Appointment to the Oba by the Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Chief Monisade Afuye.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, congratulated the new monarch on his installation, describing the development as a proud moment for the University and its global alumni community.
In a statement signed by the University’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, the Vice Chancellor said Oba Adewale’s ascension to the throne further demonstrated the University’s enduring commitment to producing graduates equipped with sound character, leadership qualities and the capacity to make meaningful contributions to national development. He expressed confidence that the monarch would provide purposeful leadership and prayed for a peaceful, successful and impactful reign.
The Vice Chancellor wished the new Oba a very long, peaceful and prosperous reign over his people.
