UNILORIN to Host BOSON conference

The Botanical Society of Nigeria (BOSON), in partnership with the Department of Plant Biology, University of Ilorin, would host its 32nd Annual Conference, tagged “BOSON-UNILORIN 2026”, from 7th to 10th June, 2026 at the University Auditorium.

In a statement signed by the Secretary of the Local Organising Committee, Dr Stephen Oyedeji, the opening ceremony would take place on Monday, 8th June, 2026 beginning at 9:00 a.m. prompt.

The Conference, according to Dr Oyedeji, would focus on practical solutions for using modern biotechnology to secure food supply while protecting public health and the environment.

Prof. Michael T. Abberton, the Director of the West African Hub and Head of the Genetic Resources Centre at IITA Headquarters, Ibadan, would deliver the keynote address on “Bridging Traditional and Modern Knowledge in Plant Science”.
