UNILORIN HOLDS SPECIAL SENATE SESSION FOR LATE EX-VC

As part of activities lined up in memory of the late 9th Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali, OON, the University management is holding a Special Senate Session on Monday (June 15, 2026).
According to a programme of memorial activities lined up in honour of the departed scholar, issued by the University Registrar, Mr Mansur Adeleke Alfanla, the Special Senate Session would hold in the University Auditorium, beginning by 9.00 a.m.
Tagged 310th Meeting of the Senate, the event would be attended by all University Senate members, who would be fully robbed in their academic gowns. Some Former Vice Chancellors and other past officials of the University are also expected to be in attendance.
Family members, friends and associates of the deceased former Vice Chancellor will also be in attendance at the solemn Senate Session.
The Registrar added that the Special Senate Session would be followed immediately by a special prayer session for the peaceful repose of the late Prof. Ambali at the UNILORIN Central Mosque.
The special prayer will be led by the Chief Imam of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Nasir AbdusSalam.
