UNILORIN Holdings trains varsity staff

The management of the University of Ilorin, through the UNILORIN Holdings, has organised a five-day capacity-building workshop.
The training, which was for selected staff members of the University held from last Monday (July 20, 2026) to Friday (July 25, 2026) at the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation (NCAM), Ilorin.
The Workshop was themed “Advancing Excellence in University Administration, Governance, Operations and Service Delivery,” and attracted staff members from the Registry, University Clinic, Counselling Unit, SIWES, University Schools, Corporate Affairs, Works, Security and COMSIT.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Workshop, the Registrar, Mr Mansur Adeleke Alfanla, described failed organisations as those that fail to train their people. He urged participants to learn new things and ensure they use what they have learnt to improve their various duties.
He encouraged staff members to always be prepared to provide quality service delivery and must be agents of positivity, not negativity.
In his address, the Managing Director of UNILORIN Holdings, Prof. Bashir Raji, called for full participation and effective interaction.
He urged staff to apply the knowledge gained so that there would be great changes on campus as he requested feedback on the usefulness of the lectures and an evaluation of the environment.
The Director of Security, Mr Paul B. Ogidi, said that all staff must be involved in security. He appealed to participants to volunteer information on security concerns and assured them that sources would not be disclosed. He also stressed that everyone is a security agent and protector.
The Director of University Health Services, Dr Rasheed Odunola, said the gathering was also a way to be stress-free. He advised staff to attend to their health, go for screening to prevent disease, and check their sugar levels.
Some of the participants, who spoke to UNILORIN Bulletin on the sidelines of the event, described theWorkshop as beneficial. Mrs Victoria Iyabo Olaoye, described it as a worthwhile and highly beneficial exercise.
On her part, Dr Hikmat O. Amoloye of the Health Services Unit described the Workshop as well-organised and fantastic.
Dr Aminullahi Salman Alawaye, a Deputy Director at the Counselling and Human Development Centre, said that it was a very good workshop to learn more about everything in the University.
