UNILORIN FM ‘ll continue to enhance community development

The General Manager of UNILORIN 89.3 FM, Mr Idris Akintola Ibrahim (Alooma), has assured the people of the Ilorin Emirate of the readiness of the radio station to always promote the peace and progress of the community.
Mr Ibrahim gave this assurance last Wednesday (August 19, 2026) while speaking at a meeting held between the leadership of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) and chief executives of electronic-media outfits operating within and around Ilorin.
The meeting, which was arranged to sensitise the stations on the expectations of the people of the Ilorin Emirate for the forthcoming general elections, was held at the Union’s National Secretariat, Geri Alimi, Ilorin.
The seasoned broadcaster said that the station had always and would continue to work towards sustaining the peace of Ilorin as he said that the University is at peace because of the prevailing peace in its host community.
Mr Ibrahim thanked the Union for always supporting the University in every way as he said that the University is appreciative of the fraternity of the leaders and members of the community.
Speaking earlier, the Ag. National President of the Union, Alhaji AbdulRauf Babatunde Issa, commended the various radio stations for their support to the Union and the Emirate at large.
Alhaji Issa, who stood in for the President, Alhaji AbdulMumini Ayo Abdulmalik, particularly appreciated the support of UNILORIN FM over the years.
He assured the radio station that the Union would continue to support it to ensure effective service delivery.
