UNILORIN Alumni Spotlight is on Olusola David OGUNDELE — Class of 2014!
Dr. Olusola David OGUNDELE is an accomplished academic, researcher, and innovator in the field of chemistry, with special interests in analytical chemistry, renewable energy, green chemistry, and sustainable chemistry research.
He obtained his B.Sc. in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Ilorin before proceeding to the Federal University of Technology, Akure, where he earned both his M.Tech. and Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry.
He currently serves as the Acting Head of the Department of Chemical Sciences at Achievers University, Owo, Nigeria. His research outputs include over 40 peer-reviewed publications in reputable journals and one patent.
In 2022, he played a major role as a team member with one of his collaborators to win the See Through Carbon competition on a project focused on reducing carbon emissions.
In recognition of his dedication to teaching, mentorship, and academic excellence, he was awarded the Best Lecturer and Most Preferred Mentor in his Department by Achievers University’s Management. Dr. Ogundele is well-known for his passion for student mentorship, research-driven teaching, and commitment to advancing sustainable development through science and innovation.
His interdisciplinary approach to research and innovation continues to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of green chemistry, renewable energy technologies, and environmental sustainability in the global space.
