UMC visits, congratulates new Ilorin Chief Imam

Officials and other top shots of the University of Ilorin Muslim Community (UMC) penultimate Thursday (June 18, 2026) paid a congratulatory visit to the newly appointed Chief Imam of Ilorin, Shaykh Muhammad Bashir Dasuki, at his residence in Agaka Quarters, Ilorin.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation that was led by the Chairman of the UMC, Prof. Mudashiru Olalere Yusuf, the Chief Imam of the University of Ilorin Central Mosque, Prof. Nasir AbdusSalam, congratulated the new Chief Imam on his appointment and offered prayers for wisdom, good health, and divine guidance as he assumes the revered spiritual office.
Prof. AbdusSalam also reaffirmed the commitment of the UMC to strengthening ties with the religious leadership of the Emirate and promoting unity among the Muslim faithful.
Responding, the new Chief Imam expressed his profound appreciation for the visit and the goodwill extended to him by the entire members of the University of Ilorin Muslim Community since his appointment was announced.
He urged members of the UMC to remain steadfast in their faith, uphold integrity in their academic and professional pursuits, and continue to contribute positively to national development through knowledge sharing, compassion, and service to humanity.
Other members of the delegation included the Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences, Prof. Saudat Sallah AbdulBaqi, Prof Nafisat Adedokun Shittu and Prof Rafiat Oyekunle, among others.
