UMC to celebrate elevated members, July 12

The University of Ilorin Muslim Community (UMC) has concluded arrangements to celebrate its members who were promoted to the pinnacles of their careers by the authorities of the University in 2025 and 2026.
The event, according to a statement made available by the Chairman of the Organising Committee of the programme, Dr Mohammed Kabir Garba, would hold on Sunday, July 12, 2026 at the University Multipurpose Hall beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Dr Garba, who is also a former Sub-Dean of the Student Affairs Division, University of Ilorin, explained that invitation letters have been despatched to all the honourees who cut across both the academic and non-teaching cadres.
The Chairman added that the Guest Speaker at the event would be a former Head of the Department of Islamic Law, University of Ilorin, Prof. AbdulRazzaq AbdulMajeed Alaro, mni, while dignitaries from all walks of life including the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, and the Chairman of UMC, Prof. Mudashiru Olalere Yusuf, among others, would be in attendance.
He enjoined the honourees and other guests to be seated at the venue by or before 9:30 a.m.
