Two UNILORIN pharmacists get 2026 PSN Merit Awards

Two academic pharmacists at the University of Ilorin, Prof. Abdulganiyu Giwa and Dr Olusegun Eniayewu, were among the recipients of the 2026 Merit Awards of the Kwara State Branch of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN).
While Prof. Abdulganiyu Giwa is the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Ilorin; Dr Olusegun I. Eniayewu is the Sub-Dean of the same Faculty.
The recognition celebrates the duo as distinguished leaders and exemplary academic pharmacists, acknowledging their excellence, leadership, dedicated service and contributions to the pharmacy profession.
The honour also recognises their contributions to pharmacy education, the profession and the advancement of healthcare in Kwara State.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has congratulated the two scholars on the well-deserved recognition.
In a statement by the Director of Corporate Affairs of the institution, Mr Kunle Akogun, the Vice Chancellor also commended them for their contributions and dedicated service, noting that the honour further reflected their commitment to excellence in the Pharmacy profession and academia.
In a congratulatory message on behalf of the Nigeria Association of Pharmacists in Academia (NAPA), Kwara State, its Chairman Dr K. M. Salawu, congratulated Prof. Giwa and Dr Eniayewu on their well-deserved recognition.
Dr Salawu described the prestigious honour as a fitting recognition of their excellence, leadership, dedicated service and contributions to the Pharmacy profession.
He said NAPA, Kwara State, was proud to celebrate the remarkable achievement with the two distinguished colleagues and wished them even greater accomplishments ahead.
