Unilorin Holdings Limited has appointed Dr Muhtahir O. Oloyede as the Acting Manager of the UNILORIN Innovation Hub, effective May 1, 2026.
The appointment is contained in a letter dated April 24, 2026 and signed by Prof. B.A. Raji, the Acting Managing Director of UNILORIN Holdings Limited, a copy of which was made available to UNILORIN Bulletin.
The letter explained that the appointment reflects the organisation’s confidence in Dr Oloyede’s competence and leadership to manage and grow the Hub.
The UNILORIN Innovation Hub serves as a key platform for fostering technology-based initiatives and entrepreneurship within the University of Ilorin community.
As Acting Manager, Dr Oloyede would oversee daily operations and strategic development. His responsibilities would also include coordinating activities, driving innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives, managing staff and partnerships, and identifying opportunities for growth and sustainability.
Reacting to the appointment, Dr Oloyede expressed gratitude for the trust reposed in him as he outlined his commitment to raising the Hub’s profile. “I’m deeply honoured by the trust Unilorin Holdings Limited and the University of Ilorin have placed in me with this appointment,” he said.
“The UNILORIN Innovation Hub has always stood as a beacon for young innovators and entrepreneurs on campus, and stepping into this role is both a privilege and a responsibility I do not take lightly.”
Dr Oloyede said his immediate focus would be on strengthening the Hub’s ecosystem and delivering measurable impact by connecting students, researchers, and industry partners to turn ideas into viable solutions.
“We will prioritise practical training, mentorship, and access to resources that make it easier for our innovators to build, test, and scale their work. The goal is simple: make the Hub the first place anyone in Kwara and beyond thinks of when they want to build something real.”
He also pledged to run the Hub with transparency and accountability, with a clear target for its next phase of growth. He assured all that he would launch more market-ready projects, secure strategic partnerships, and create opportunities that translate directly into jobs and revenue for the UNILORIN community.
Dr Oloyede, therefore, invited students, staff, alumni, and partners to work with him to elevate the Hub to a status they would all be proud of.
