Oloyede bags NIPR Honorary Fellowship

A former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Emeritus Is-haq Olanrewaju Oloyede, CON, has been conferred with the prestigious Honorary Fellowship of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
Prof. Emeritus Oloyede, who is the Registrar and Chief Executive of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), was conferred with the Fellowship last Thursday (April 23, 2026) at the Institute’s Annual General Meeting held in Abuja. Others who were granted the Fellowship along with Prof. Oloyede included the former Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND), Prof. Bogoro and the Vice Chancellor of the Nasarawa State University,Keffi, Prof. Saadat Liman.
The honour, according to the organisers, was informed by the remarkable contributions of Prof. Oloyede, who is generally seen as a role-model in public service.
Among dignitaries that witnessed the event are the Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences, University of Ilorin and Council Member of the NIPR, Prof. Saudat Salah Abdulbaqi, and an Associate Professor at the Department of English Studies, University of Ilorin, Dr Rasheedat Foluke Aliu, among others.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has welcomed the Fellowship award on Prof. Emeritus Oloyede by the NIPR.
Prof. Egbewole, in a statement issued by the University’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, said that Prof. Oloyede is one of the greatest exports of the University who has continued to bring honour to the institution.
The Vice Chancellor, who is also an Honourary Fellow of the NIPR, congratulated Prof. Emeritus Oloyede for adding another feather to his crowded crown, saying that the University would remain very proud of him and his achievements.
Prof. Egbewole thanked the NIPR for the honour done to the foremost Unilorite as he wished the former Vice Chancellor more successes.
