Olaitan bags AIPHP Fellowship

The Dean of the Faculty of Education, University of Ilorin, Prof. Olukunmi ‘Lanre Olaitan, has been inducted as a Fellow of the African Institute of Public Health Professionals (FAIPHP).

The investiture ceremony, which took place penultimate Saturday (April 11, 2026), at the NICON Luxury Hotels in Abuja, brought together top-tier health experts, academics, and policymakers from across the continent.

Prof. Olaitan, a renowned expert in Health Promotion and Environmental Health Education, also set the tone for the event as the Guest Lecturer.

In his address, titled “Building Resilient Health Systems through Public Health Fellowship and Leadership,” Prof. Olaitan noted that competence without courage is incomplete leadership. He further charged the new advocates to be visible advocates for prevention, equity, and quality.

The conferment of the Fellowship on Prof. Olaitan highlights his long-standing commitment to multidisciplinary research as he has to his credit over 100 publications in reputable outlets covering journals, edited conference proceedings and chapters in books.

The Dean, who is also an alumnus of the University, has equally won a number of research grants as heĀ  is also a member of many professional bodies within and outside Nigeria.
