New Year: Egbewole reaffirms commitment to staff welfare

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has pledged his Administration’s continuous promotion of staff welfare, saying that he would also ensure that all processes continue to be guided by merit, promptness and integrity.

Prof. Egbewole made the pledge in his New Year message sent to all staff of the University via their individual e-mail boxes last Wednesday (January 1, 2025).

While welcoming the staff and students to year 2025, the Vice Chancellor prayed that the New Year will be a year of progress, prosperity and abundant grace for all staff members and students and the University as a whole.

According to him, “2024 was excruciatingly challenging but we sailed through with resilience, commitment and single mindedness. I have no doubt that having successfully navigated the 2024 challenges, we will easily glide through 2025 and achieve our desired goals and aspirations at the individual and collective levels”.

Prof. Egbewole assured the staff that “as an Administration, we will continue to promote your welfare and ensure that our processes continue to be guided by merit, promptness and integrity”.

He, also, requested the continued support of all members of staff of the University in order to actualise the vision of his Administration.

The Vice Chancellor told the staff, “Let me request that you continue to do your best to support your University by cleaning your own corner and ensuring that all that you needed to do is accomplished timely and in the best of forms.

“As an academic community, let us continue to be guided by empirical evidence, be analytical in our approaches and be ready to validate our positions. I pray that 2025 will be better than 2024”.
