New UNILORIN TV board visits varsity’s electronic media studios

As part of efforts targeted at hitting the ground running, the Chairman of the UNILORIN Television Management Board (UTMB), Prof. S. O. Ikibe, last Wednesday (July 1, 2026) led members of the Board on a working visit to the studios of Unilorin TV and  UNILORIN 89.3 FM.

At the television studio, the Chairman said that the Board was there to assess the facilities on ground with a view to familiarising itself with the operations of the UNILORIN TV.

Addressing the Station’s Cameraman, Mr Idrees Lukman Kehinde, who received him and other Board members, Prof. Ikibe assured the TV station that the Board would live no stone unturned at ensuring that it delivers on its mandates.

Mr Kehinde, had earlier taken the Board members round the studio in the course of which he also explained its operations, prospects and challenges.

While explaining that the television studio is meant to train students of the Department of Mass Communication, Mr Kehinde assured the Board of his full cooperation to ensure that the station achieves maximum service delivery.

At the Radio studio, Prof. Ikibe reiterated the need for cooperation and collaboration between the UNILORIN TV and UNILORIN FM radio as well as other media outlets of the University to ensure that the visibility of the University record remarkable improvement.

He explained that it is only through collaboration and cooperation that all the media outfits would live up to their expectations.

Prof. Ikibe, who teaches at the Department of The Performing and Film Arts, had earlier presided over the inaugural meeting of the Board at the Conference Room of the Directorate of Corporate Affairs, University of Ilorin.

The Chairman charged members of the Board to work together to ensure that the confidence reposed in them by the University management is justified.

Other members of the Board who joined the Chairman on the working visit were the Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun; a lecturer at the Department of Educational Technology, Dr M. A. Aderoju; a lecturer at the Department of Mass Communication, Mrs Hameedato Oladimeji; an Assistant Registrar at the Directorate of Human Resources, Mr M. T. Adua and the Deputy Editor, UNILORIN Bulletin, who is also the Board Secretary, Mr Abubakar Imam.
