My successor ’ll take CoHS to higher level-Alabi
The immediate past Provost of the College of Health Sciences (CHoS), University of Ilorin, Prof. Biodun Sulyman Alabi, has assured the staff and students of the College as well as other stakeholders of the ability of his successor, Prof. Muhammed Adeboye to take the College to higher heights.
Prof. Alabi gave this assurance penultimate Friday (July 31, 2026) while formally handing over the leadership of the College to Prof. Adeboye at the College’s Boardroom.
The former Provost, who described his successor as a highly experienced, hardworking and dedicated professional, said that he was sure that the College would not experience retrogression under the watch of his successor.
He explained that the experiences his successor had garnered over the years as Head of his Department and most especially as the Director of the School of Preliminary Studies, Fufu, must have adequately prepared him for his new position.
Prof. Alabi, who said that the responsibilities of the new Provost go beyond the administration of the College, said that his schedule also include the coordination of the activities of the Committee of Provost and Deans of the University as its Chairman.
Prof. Alabi similarly encouraged his successor to be consultative in his approach as he said that tapping from the knowledge and expertise of others would make him a better manager of human and material resources.
He, therefore, encouraged staff and students of the three Faculties constituting the College to cooperate fully with the new Provost for the College to be taken to greater heights.
Responding, the new Provost commended his predecessor for his relentless efforts which led to the repositioning of the College.
Prof. Adeboye assured him and the entire College community that he would run an inclusive administration and that the forward match of the College would neither be stagnated nor retarded.
The event was witnessed by several dignitaries including Deans and Heads of the Department from the College,among others.
