Management pays condolence visit to Ajiboye family

The management of the University of Ilorin has paid a condolence visit to the family of the former Director of Health Services of the University, Dr Mary Ajiboye, who died penultimate Saturday, (August 22, 2026), at the age of 74.
Dr Ajiboye, who retired from the services of the University about a decade ago, died after a brief illness.
The delegation, which was received by her widower, Prince Gbadebo Ilufemiloye Ajiboye, and her eldest son, Dr Akinyosoye Ajiboye, included the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research, Technology and Innovation), Prof. Muhtar Adeiza Etudaiye; the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Management Services), Prof. Lere Adeyemi; the Registrar, represented by a Deputy Registrar, Mrs. Zainab H. Salawu; the University Bursar, Mr Abiodun Lawal; the Director, University Health Services, Dr Rasheed Odunola; as well as some staff members of the University Clinic and the Office of the Vice Chancellor.
Speaking on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research, Technology and Innovation), Prof. Muhtar Adeiza Etudaiye, described the late Dr. Ajiboye as an indefatigable member of the University community who contributed significantly to the institution during her years of service.
Prof. Etudaiye said the University was deeply saddened by the death of the former Director of Health Services, noting that her contributions to the growth and wellbeing of the University community would always be remembered.
He expressed the condolences of the Vice Chancellor, management, staff and the entire University community to the family, praying for the peaceful repose of the deceased and strength for the family to bear the loss.
Responding on behalf of the family, the eldest son of the deceased, Dr Akinyosoye Ajiboye, appreciated the University community for identifying with the family at its difficult moment.
Dr Ajiboye particularly commended the University for remembering and honouring his late mother, despite her retirement from the institution about a decade ago, describing the gesture as a demonstration of the enduring bond between the University and its former staff.
