JBU extols Oloyede’s exceptional leadership at JAMB

The founder and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Jimoh Babalola University (JBU), Ilorin, Alhaji Jimoh K. Babalola, and the Officer-in-Charge of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, Prof. Muftau Adeniyi Ijaiya, have commended the immediate past Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Emeritus Prof. Is-haq Olanrewaju Oloyede, CON, for his exemplary leadership and immense contributions to Nigeria’s tertiary education system.
In a letter dated August 4, 2026, jointly signed by Alhaji Babalola and Prof. Ijaiya on behalf of the University’s Governing Council, management, staff and students, the institution appreciated Prof. Oloyede for the pivotal role he played in the establishment and licensing of the University.
The University described the former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin as a father-figure whose guidance, encouragement, wise counsel and unwavering commitment were instrumental to the successful establishment of the institution.
According to the letter, Prof. Oloyede’s tenure as JAMB Registrar was characterised by visionary, transparent and selfless leadership that ushered in far-reaching reforms, digital transformation and technological innovations, significantly enhancing the Board’s efficiency, credibility and public confidence.
The University also congratulated the distinguished scholar on the numerous honours he received during his tenure, including his recognition as the Most Productive Public Office Holder in Nigeria and the conferment of a National Honour on him by the late President Muhammadu Buhari in appreciation of his outstanding service to the nation.
Describing Prof. Oloyede as “a competent, capable and indefatigable leader of men and institutions,” the University noted that his remarkable legacy would continue to inspire generations of leaders and administrators.
As Prof. Oloyede concluded his tenure as JAMB Registrar, the Jimoh Babalola University officials prayed that Almighty Allah would continue to guide, protect and grant him good health as he embarks on another phase of service to humanity.
