The Deputy Registrar, Office of the Vice Chancellor, University of Ilorin, Mrs. Azeezat Quadri Ibrahim, MCIPM, has been elected the new Chairperson of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM), Kwara State Chapter.
Her election was the highlight of the Institute’s Annual General Meeting, which took place at the Auditorium Basement of the University of Ilorin last Wednesday (April 30, 2025).
In her inaugural address, Mrs Ibrahim expressed deep gratitude to members of the Institute for entrusting her with the leadership of the Kwara State Chapter. She praised the immediate past executive team for their contributions and vowed to build on their achievements.
The new Chairperson unveiled her administration’s blueprint under the acronym ‘IMPACT’, which means Institutional strengthening, Membership growth and engagement, Professional development, Accessible secretariat, Communication and visibility and Teamwork and transformation. She explained that this strategic framework was designed to reposition the Kwara Chapter for enhanced relevance and productivity in human resource practice.
While explaining that her team would immediately seek collaboration with the national body to organise an orientation programme for the newly elected executives in order to align them with national goals and ensure clarity of expectations, Mrs Ibrahim outlined plans to expand the Institute’s membership by targeting HR professionals across both public and private sectors.
On professional development, she noted that there will be capacity building through regular training programmes, seminars, and workshops which will focus on emerging trends in human resource management and aim to make continuous learning a culture within the chapter.
The Chairperson also acknowledged the importance of a functional and member-friendly Secretariat where members feel at home.
