Ibrahim appointed AFCMHC’s Bursar
…… Egbewole, Falowo rejoice

A Deputy Bursar at the University of Ilorin, Mr Murtala Mohammed Ibrahim, has been appointed as the Bursar of the Armed Forces College of Medicine and Health Sciences, Yaba, Lagos.
Mr Ibrahim, who had served as the Acting Bursar of Abubakar Toyin University, Ganmo, Ilorin, was until his appointment, the Deputy Bursar in-charge of the Final Account Unit
Mr Ibrahim, who is currently pursuing his doctorate degree in Accounting at the University of Ilorin,had earlier earned his first and second degrees in the same discipline and from the same institution in 2014 and 2017, respectively.A distinguished fellow of the Chartered Institute of Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Mr Ibrahim joined the services of the University in February, 2014. He rose through the ranks before attaining the rank of Deputy Bursar last year.
Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, has welcomed the appointment of the renowned financial technocrat, describing it as well-deserved.
In a statement issued by the University’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, the Vice Chancellor said that the appointment has further confirmed the University of Ilorin as an oven of professionalism.
The Vice Chancellor urged Mr Ibrahim to see his appointment as an opportunity to write his name in gold and broaden his profile. He also expressed conviction that the new Bursar would demonstrate probity, integrity and excellence in the discharge of his duties at the College.
Similarly, the Chairman of the University of Ilorin Branch of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Mr Naheem Olusola Falowo, has also welcomed the appointment of Mr Ibrahim.
Mr Falowo, who is also a senior staff member of the University Bursary Department, said that the appointment is a recognition of Mr Ibrahim’s years of dedication, professionalism, competence and commitment to the accounting profession and the University system.
While describing Mr Ibrahim as “a respected member of our professional family and a colleague who has contributed immensely to the development of our Branch”, the Chairman said that “the elevation of Mr Ibrahim is not only a personal achievement but also a source of pride to SSANU UNILORIN Branch and the entire non-teaching community”.
He prayed to Allah to grant the new Bursar wisdom, sound health, strength and divine guidance as he assumes his new position. He also wished him a very remarkable tenure.
