I am impressed with UNILORIN-Customs CG

The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Dr Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, has commended the level of development so far recorded by the University of Ilorin.
Dr Adeniyi stated this last Wednesday (May 13, 2026) while featuring on a special personality interview programme on UNILORIN 89.3 FM. The programme was anchored by the duo of the Station Manager, Mr Idris Akintola Ibrahim/(Alooma) and Mr Tope Olawuyi, the Station’s Head of Programme.
The Customs Chief was at the University to deliver the key note address at an international conference organised by the Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences.
He said that it was the mini-campus of the University that he knew years back as he said that with his latest visit he was very impressed with the magnitude and quality of structures across the main campus of the University.
Dr Adeniyi, who is also a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), said that the calibre of products of the University matches its growing reputations.
He urged students of the University to always face their studies squarely for them to have an enviable future.
The Customs Chief, who was accompanied to the studio by a team led by a former Director of the Computer-Based Test Centre of the University, Prof. Kamilu Raufu, also encouraged the students to help the management of the University in maintaining its fascinating structures for their own benefits and those of the future generations.
Speaking on other national issues, Dr Adeniyi advised Nigerians to be conscious of their roles in nation-building.
He explained that it was important to know their neighbours very well and the kinds of job they do, saying that they should not hesitate to report those with questionable characters and doubtful means of livelihood to the constituted authorities for the safety of their various communities and the country at large.
