Groups hail Adeboye’s emergence as CoHS’s Provost-elect

The University of Ilorin Chapter of Omo Ibile Igbomina, the National Executive Council, and the Igbomina Professionals Association (IPA) have congratulated Prof. Muhammed A. N. Adeboye, Provost-elect of the College of Health Sciences, University of Ilorin, on his election, describing his emergence as a proud moment for the Igbomina nation.

In separate congratulatory messages made available to UNILORIN Bulletin last Friday (July 17,2026), the Chairman of the University of Ilorin Chapter of Omo Ibile Igbomina, Prof. L. T. Ajibade, described Prof. Adeboye’s election as a fitting reward for decades of dedication to scholarship, medical education, research, and quality healthcare delivery.

Prof. Ajibade noted that the keenly contested election, reflected the confidence and trust reposed in his competence, integrity, administrative experience, and leadership ability by members of the College of Health Sciences.

He expressed confidence that Prof. Adeboye would build on the solid foundation laid by the immediate past Provost, Prof. B. S. Alabi, while introducing innovative programmes that would further strengthen teaching, research, clinical practice, international collaborations, and community engagement.

He added that the UNILORIN Chapter would continue to celebrate distinguished Igbomina sons and daughters whose achievements project the values of excellence and integrity.

On his part, the National President of Egbe Omo Ibile Igbomina, Mr Bisi Fakayode, described the election of the Igbomina-born scholar as a well-deserved recognition of his outstanding academic accomplishments, exemplary leadership, and immense contributions to child healthcare and human capital development.

Mr Fakayode said Prof. Adeboye’s emergence has brought honour not only to his family but also to the entire Igbomina nation.

He noted that the achievement demonstrates the resilience, discipline, and intellectual capacity of Igbomina people, urging the Provost-elect to continue providing purposeful and inclusive leadership. He also encouraged Igbomina youths to emulate Prof. Adeboye’s commitment to excellence, hard work, humility, and selfless service.

In another congratulatory message, the National President of the Igbomina Professionals Association (IPA), Mr Bode O. Iranloye, described Prof. Adeboye’s emergence as a victory for merit, excellence, and visionary leadership.

Mr Iranloye stated that the election of an accomplished Igbomina academic to head one of the nation’s foremost medical colleges reflects the quality, competence, and growing influence of Igbomina professionals in academia and other sectors.

He urged the Provost-elect to leverage his vast academic and administrative experience to deepen research, promote innovation, strengthen institutional partnerships, and further elevate the College of Health Sciences to greater national and international prominence.

He also called on Igbomina professionals at home and in the diaspora to continue supporting educational advancement, mentoring younger generations, and contributing their expertise towards the sustainable development of Igbomina land.

The three organisations wished Prof. Adeboye a peaceful, productive, and highly successful tenure.
