Four UNILORIN alumni rank among 16 Nigerians at NVIDIA

Four alumni of the University of Ilorin have been selected among 16 Nigerians working at NVIDIA, a global leader in Artificial Intelligence and accelerated computing, highlighting the international career achievements of the University of Ilorin graduates across Engineering, Statistics and Computer Science.
The development, which is relevant to the University of Ilorin Outcome Based Education (OBE) documentation, was contained in a report published by Condia on September 11, 2026, titled “Meet 16 Nigerians who work at NVIDIA”,a copy of which was made available to UNILORIN Bulletin last Monday(September 21, 2026).
The four UNILORIN alumni are Sesan Adeniyi (Electrical Engineering), Basit Ayantunde (Mechanical Engineering), Adeola Adesoba (Statistics), and Femi Abolaji (Computer Science).
Sesan Adeniyi,a gradauate of Electrical Engineering, currently works as a Senior Solutions Architect for AI and HPC Data Centres at NVIDIA, where she has spent about two years.
Before joining NVIDIA, she worked at KPMG Nigeria. Her professional role focuses on Artificial Intelligence and high performance computing data centres, reflecting her contribution to advanced technology solutions within the global technology industry.
Basit Ayantunde, a graduate of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, is a Senior Systems Software Engineer at NVIDIA, where he has spent two years.
His code contributes to NVIDIA’s RAPIDS cuDF, a GPU accelerated Python DataFrame library. He is also an open-source contributor to the project.
Before joining NVIDIA, Mr Ayantunde worked at Goldman Sachs and Microsoft. His professional contributions to GPU accelerated data science demonstrate his involvement in developing technologies that support modern computing and Artificial Intelligence applications while Adeola Adesoba graduated from the University of Ilorin with a second class upper degree in Statistics and currently works as a Solutions Architect at NVIDIA.
She joined NVIDIA in 2022 through the new college grad solutions architect rotation programme of the Country. She currently builds and deploys agentic AI systems for Fortune 500 clients.
The report also stated that Adesoba and her husband left Lagos in 2017 so that he could begin graduate school in Tennessee, after which she pursued her professional career in technology.
Femi Abolaji, a Computer Science graduate of the University of Ilorin, has worked as a Software Engineer at NVIDIA for about five years.
Before joining NVIDIA, he spent approximately four years at Andela. He also has experience in UI/UX design.
According to the report, Abolaji is inspired by African professionals excelling in technology careers abroad, reflecting his participation in the growing community of African technology professionals working in global companies.
The achievements of the four UNILORIN alumni underscore the diverse career pathways of the University’s graduates and their contributions to Artificial Intelligence, software engineering, high performance computing and advanced technology globally.
Their professional accomplishments also provide useful examples for the University of Ilorin COREN and Outcome Based Education (OBE) documentation, particularly in demonstrating the relevance of university education to professional practice and global technological innovation.
