Ex-Unilorite shines at Jakande Leadership Academy

An alumna of the University of Ilorin,  Titilope Anifowose, has made history as the first Fellow of the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy, (LJLA) to win both the Standout Performer and the Best Representation  Awards.

Anifowose, who served as a UNILORIN Advocate in 2024 at the Academy, received her certificate and awards penultimate Friday (September 4, 2026) during the graduation ceremony of LJLA for the 2025/2026 cohort.

Speaking at the event, the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu,  who was accompanied to the event by his Deputy, Mr Obafemi Hamzat,  noted that the Fellowship is a pathway for competent Nigerians to join the Lagos State civil service  strictly  on merit.

Reacting to the development, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, described the success of Anifowose, a 2016 Law graduate of the University, as a testament to the quality of graduates produced by the University.

In a statement issued by the Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, theVice Chancellor said that “the University is immensely proud of Titilope Anifowose for this outstanding feat. Her performance at the LJLA reflects the sound training, discipline and leadership qualities that UNILORIN alumni are known for around the world”.

Prof. Egbewole, who is also a Member of the Nigerian Body of Benchers, urged the young lawyer to continue to fly the University’s flag as she joins the Lagos State civil service and urged current students to emulate her commitment to excellence and service to humanity.
