Etudaiye tasks AWS graduands on continued learning

The Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research, Technology and Innovation) of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Muhtar Adeiza Etudaiye, has charged graduands of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Student Builder Club to embrace continuous learning and remain committed to developing their digital competencies in order to enhance their relevance in the rapidly evolving technology ecosystem.
Prof. Etudaiye, who is the Patron of the Club, gave the charge last Monday (July 27, 2026) while addressing participants at the Club’s graduation ceremony held at the University Auditorium.
The Deputy Vice Chancellor commended the graduands for successfully completing the programme and encouraged them to ensure they possess a deep understanding of the skills they have acquired.
He stressed that beyond earning certificates, students must be able to apply their knowledge to solve real-world challenges and create innovative solutions.
According to him, true mastery comes from continuous practice, curiosity and a willingness to keep learning as technology continues to evolve.
The Deputy Vice Chancellor noted that the Club aligns perfectly with the vision of his Office, which seeks to nurture students into digitally inclined innovators capable of driving technological advancement.
He explained that the DVC (RTI) Office is committed to supporting initiatives that expose students to emerging technologies and prepare them for the demands of the global digital economy.
He further urged the graduands to serve as ambassadors of digital innovation by sharing their knowledge with others and continually seeking opportunities for professional growth.
Prof. Etudaiye expressed confidence that the skills gained through the Club would position the students to make meaningful contributions to their careers, the University and the technological development of the country.
Joining the Bootcamp finale virtually, Mr Ayodele Usman made a presentation on “Positioning Yourself in the Global Space,” where he encouraged participants to cultivate a mindset of continuous growth and resilience.
Mr Usman urged the students to take calculated risks, maintain an unquenchable desire for knowledge, and set realistic, achievable goals that would position them for global opportunities.
According to him, success in today’s digital economy requires intentional learning, adaptability and the courage to step beyond one’s comfort zone.
Also speaking virtually, Mr Williams Olasunwo delivered a lecture on “Career Paths and Opportunities in Cloud Computing”.
He exposed participants to the diverse career prospects available within the cloud computing ecosystem, highlighting the increasing global demand for cloud professionals across various industries.
He encouraged the graduands to leverage the knowledge acquired during the bootcamp as a foundation for obtaining professional certifications, building practical experience and pursuing rewarding careers in cloud technologies.
In his remarks, the General Manager of the UNILORIN Innovation Hub, Dr Mutahiru Oloyede, described the Bootcamp as a practical demonstration of the Hub’s commitment to equipping students with relevant digital skills and fostering innovation.
He commended the Captain of the Club, Mr Abolaji Abdulrahman, for his dedication, describing him as a wonderful and industrious leader whose efforts culminated in the successful organisation of the programme.
Dr Oloyede assured students that the Innovation Hub remains open to nurturing and scaling up innovative ideas from students, urging them not to relent in pursuing excellence despite challenges.
The Central Point of Contact (CPOC) for AWS, Dr. Temitayo Caroline Adeniran, noted that the Bootcamp was designed to prepare students for opportunities beyond the four walls of the University by equipping them with globally relevant digital skills.
She encouraged participants to remain committed to continuous learning and self-development while expressing appreciation to the AWS Student Builder Club and everyone who contributed to the success of the initiative..
The ceremony also witnessed the unveiling of the top three outstanding participants of the Bootcamp, with Usman Abdulmujeeb Opeyemi emerging as the second runner-up, Aderounmu Azeezat Adejoke finishing as the first runner-up, while Abiodun Emmanuel Olabisi was crowned the overall winner of the competition.
